How Does Homeopathy Work?Homeopathy is a very old healing practice used in many countries. In homeopathy, two people with the same symptoms often receive different remedies. For someone who is acquainted mostly with pharmaceuticals this is a difficult concept to grasp. Pharmaceuticals are designed to create a specific chemical reaction within the human body, whether that is of benefit to that particular person's body or not. If the pharmaceutical is working well, the body has no choice but to react as the pharmaceutical dictates. Pharmaceuticals work on the assumption that everybody's body is the same. Homeopathy works on the assumption that everybody's body is unique, and with proper support knows how to heal itself. In homeopathy, the remedy "coaxes" the body to recognize what needs to happen and calls on the body's natural, innate healing mechanisms to become active. This "coaxing" is achieved with different remedies for different people. Since the use of such remedies is extremely low risk, pre-made low potency homeopathic remedies are often available in stores and people do not need a prescription to buy them. |

Kinds of Homeopathic RemediesThere are basically two groups of homeopathic remedies. A) Classic HomeopathyThe remedies used in classic homeopathy are the ones most widely used and the ones with which people are most familiar. These are the remedies that can be bought in stores. This group of remedies encompasses those homeopathics that stimulate the body into healing by accentuating the symptoms. Sometimes the increase in symptoms is noticeable, and sometimes it is not. When the symptoms become noticeably worse, it is called a "healing crisis". At this point, the body says, "Enough of this - do whatever you have to do to get these symptoms out of here". Then the immune system as a whole, or whichever system is involved, becomes activated to deal with the symptoms. |

B) Drainage RemediesThe second group of homeopathic remedies encompasses drainage remedies. This group is less well known and generally is available only by consultation with a practitioner. These act on specific substances or organs, as opposed to symptoms. Instead of attempting to activate a whole body system to deal with symptoms, they encourage the body to let go of unhealthy substances in specific organs where the body is retaining them. They do not need to make the symptoms worse to activate the healing - they merely "remind" the body to let go of the offending substances. There is no "healing crisis" with drainage remedies. |

How do Custom Homeopathics remedies work? Custom Homeopathics remedies belong to the second group. They
are low potency drainage remedies. Thus they do not make symptoms
more severe in order for the remedies to be affective. There is
no "healing crisis" for those using Custom Homeopathics remedies.
The remedies are formulated to drain away the excess accumulation
of calcium phosphate and other substances which are interfering
with healthy functioning. We identify which drainage remedies are
needed for each person through a saliva swab which people mail to
us. |

Custom Homeopathics does not use "off the shelf" pre-made remedies.
Remedies made by Custom Homeopathics are unique in that their composition
is formulated specifically for each person. They are tailored to
fit a person's individual needs. They are individualized and truly
"custom made". No two remedies are the same, even for members of
the same family. |

People frequently ask what is in the remedies. Since each remedy
is different and made specifically for that person, this is a very
complex question. There is not a single herb, or a family of herbs,
that we are using. Custom Homeopathics are not based on a derivative
of guaiacum, as we have not found it helpful, nor do we use the
traditional calcarea phosphorica remedy, as we have not found it
to be helpful either. |

Remedies are formulated to address the needs of a specific organ
of that person, such as the liver or kidneys for example. Each remedy
contains up to 7 sub-remedies. For one person a remedy for the kidneys
may contain sub-remedies to address accumulations of caffeine, mercury,
lead, sodium, calcium phosphate, and calcium, plus a general cleanup
remedy. For another person, their kidney remedy might contain sub-remedies
to address Epstein Barr Virus, vaccination debris, mites, sodium,
salicylic acid, calcium and a general cleanup remedy, depending

The combinations we use can become quite complex. The requirement
for this kind of complexity for people with FM/CFS may be one reason
"off the shelf" homeopathic remedies often have not worked well
for people with FM/CFS. |
